hello,

i have some questions about using switch input with gok, specifically with the xkeys switch interface. in a previous email david bolter mentioned that gok will read (or currently reads, i'm not sure) the xkeys buttons as keyboard keys.

in keyboard emulation mode the xkeys device acts as follows: if one key is programmed in, the device will send a key when the button is pressed down. if the button is held down it will keep sending that key (at the rate defined by the keyboard preferences) until the button is released. if multiple keys are programmed into a button, the device will send the keys when the button is pressed down. if the button is held down, nothing will happen. when the button is released there is no indication of that event.

does gok currently support the xkeys device? if so how does it work? if the xkeys device is not supported, will gok need to get information about each button state (when it was pressed and released) to function properly?

btw, is this list still being used?

ben
