Chris,
Before I forget, we need to discuss the key flashing feature. Unless I am not understanding ddd, I think it is causing some problems. I look at the code and it appears fairly bulletproof, nonetheless, removing the flashing removed a problem I have been having.
For example, when I have a GUI dynamic keyboard and I select a key, the intended behaviour is performed, and the gok returns to the main keyboard, and the GUI keyboard is destroyed. I think the key flash timer is still going and somehow the asserts don't catch... Here is the ddd output:
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

(I was hoping it might be related to bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88035 but I doubt it based on the dates... unless the addition of states to control the key highlighting (gok_chunker r1.13) had an effect...)
cheers,
~~David
